Christmas 2010

Dear Zeke,

Today is your second Christmas.

At Christmas eve, we celebrated with Papa and Mama, and mommy and daddy's friends for Noche Buena. You really enjoyed the presence of many people as you start to flash your friendly smile around them, and just be simply charming. I guess I'll no longer worry about playing host when you're around.  :)

At Christmas day, you were your bubbly self when you woke up. The rest of us were tired for staying up so late the night before. However, I wanted to start a tradition for our family - that is opening of gifts at Christmas morning. Did you know that you received so many of them? You might be too young to understand about gifts now, but you surely had fun when daddy opened one gift from the other.

However, I'd like to share with you that Christmases won't be about the material gifts we receive. Rather, it should be about celebrating one of the most important gifts we receive from Jesus - that is the gift of family.

Your daddy and I looks forward to celebrate more Christmases with you.

Love,
Mommy

Picnic at Pasir Ris Park

Dear Zeke,
We went out for a picnic today at Pasir Ris Park with your grandparents, Mama Elsa and Papa Tony. You were all smiles and shrieking with fun when we let you walk around the area as we prepared the food we brought for the picnic. you were just so excited to explore your new playground, and it always warms our heart to see you so happy. so we let you walk about for just a while.

when it was time for lunch, you behaved yourself like a little adult on the picnic mat. you were also busy munching the chicharon auntie tata handed you. well, you loved it so much because you didn't want to let go of it. but we had to baby, cause we didn't want you to get choked.

After lunch, daddy let you walk on the sand. it is your first time to feel its texture, or to feel the small waves of the sea splashing on your tiny little feet. you were both curious and scared. you were holding on to daddy's hand all the time, afraid that he'll let go. the sight of both of you then perfectly captures how blessed i am :)

You then wanted me to lift you up - which i did. you hugged me like you were telling me you got scared, but now you feel safe because mommy is around too. always remember baby, that both your daddy and i will do our best to always make you feel safe.

After the adventure by the beach, we then went off to your favorite place at the park - the swing. However, we didn't get to stay long because the wind started to blow hard, and rain started to fall soon after. Daddy had to go back to our picnic site to put down our tent, with the help of Papa. We then decided to pack and go since the rain didn't want to stop.

'Till our next picnic. We are looking forward to have more picnics with you baby.

Loving you much,

Mommy

Kidz@Work 12.17.2010

Dear Zeke,

Today you went with me to the office. I wanted you to be there and experience the fun with the other kids eager to join the fun activity that IBM is holding. The little IBMers.

A lot of my colleagues greeted you with smiles, they wanted to carry you in their arms to make you feel how delighted they are to see you. But you didn't want to go to anyone of them but me. You started to roam around the room where all the kids are gathered witnessing the magic performance of a very funny-looking guy. You keep on tripping down from time to time as this is only your 3rd week of walking and you are still getting your bearing on how to walk properly.

I cannot help myself but smile seeing you walking everywhere trying to catch me as some of my friends are stretching their arms for a bid to carry you around. They say you look a lot like me except for one, that you have a fair skin compare to my brown complexion. Little they know is that I also had fair skin like you when I was little. But to hear them saying that you are like a mini me is like a music to my ears.

You made my day today my son.

Your Dad.
