Dear Zeke,
As with every normal morning where me and mommy goes to work on weekday, today is something that make me think how hard it is for you to see us "your playmates" leave you with tita tata the whole day.
But Daddy and Mommy need to go to work for us to buy our food, pay for rent, buy you clothes and toys and to let you join the awesome playgroup when you are 2 years old, that's gonna be next year.
This morning when I went out of room and ready to leave, you greeted me with your sweet "E-Oh" greetings, with your hand waving and face smiling. And when I said "Bye-bye", you seem to accept it and said "Ba-ba" in return without any sign of disappointment.
I then ask you to come with me to the door and as I was opening it for me to go outside, you helped me with it. You were standing in an open door, but I couldn't see any sign that you wanted to come outside with me, unlike on the normal day-out that we have where you are always so excited to come down the stairs, and would excitedly say "Ta! Goh!" (your way of saying Let's Go). :)
When I closed the gate after getting out, you just held on the steel rods saying "Ba-ba" for Bye bye. I then kissed you goodbye and I could hear the usual sound which you are emitting every time Mom or Me kisses you, the sweet sound of "Mmmmmm--mhuaaa".
When I was 2 meters away, you are still holding on the bars, but when I looked back, you then started to say "Mmmmmm--mhuaaa" again, your way of saying that you wanted another kiss. I couldn't help myself but to start my way back to give you another kiss, and again the sweet sweet sound of "Mmmmmm--mhuaaa".
And you wouldn't want to stop this time, after the 3rd and the 4th kisses. I would be late my son, if I wouldn't start to go my way to the office. So, even if it was hard for me to leave you that way, I started to head down to the lift where I finally heard you saying "Ba-ba" again. :)
Goodbye for now my son, and see you in the evening. Love you.
Your Dad

Peace
Dear Zeke,
You just had a lot of fun moments in the past weeks meeting up and playing with Derek and Mia. It was good to see you having fun with them my son.
There were times that you would look at them when they were having tantrums, it seems to me that you didn't understand their reactions, and you seem puzzled as to the way they react on certain situations.
I am so proud of you my son, you are so forgiving when someone wanted your toy, you seem to don't like it at all and cry for a little bit but then, in just like a snap you will start to recover and flashes your charming smile again with a simple comfort from me and your mom.
You also learned a few tricks from socializing with them, you now have the way of playing your cars, which is holding and guiding it to run around the table as if you are driving.
You also got how to flash a peace sign when mommy is photographing you. And you don't show it with just two fingers, you are doing it with five fingers as if giving high five to the camera along with your stress-reliever smile.
I love you my son.
Your Dad.

Christmas 2010
Dear Zeke,
Today is your second Christmas.
At Christmas eve, we celebrated with Papa and Mama, and mommy and daddy's friends for Noche Buena. You really enjoyed the presence of many people as you start to flash your friendly smile around them, and just be simply charming. I guess I'll no longer worry about playing host when you're around. :)
At Christmas day, you were your bubbly self when you woke up. The rest of us were tired for staying up so late the night before. However, I wanted to start a tradition for our family - that is opening of gifts at Christmas morning. Did you know that you received so many of them? You might be too young to understand about gifts now, but you surely had fun when daddy opened one gift from the other.
However, I'd like to share with you that Christmases won't be about the material gifts we receive. Rather, it should be about celebrating one of the most important gifts we receive from Jesus - that is the gift of family.
Your daddy and I looks forward to celebrate more Christmases with you.
Love,
Mommy

Picnic at Pasir Ris Park
Dear Zeke,
We went out for a picnic today at Pasir Ris Park with your grandparents, Mama Elsa and Papa Tony. You were all smiles and shrieking with fun when we let you walk around the area as we prepared the food we brought for the picnic. you were just so excited to explore your new playground, and it always warms our heart to see you so happy. so we let you walk about for just a while.
when it was time for lunch, you behaved yourself like a little adult on the picnic mat. you were also busy munching the chicharon auntie tata handed you. well, you loved it so much because you didn't want to let go of it. but we had to baby, cause we didn't want you to get choked.
After lunch, daddy let you walk on the sand. it is your first time to feel its texture, or to feel the small waves of the sea splashing on your tiny little feet. you were both curious and scared. you were holding on to daddy's hand all the time, afraid that he'll let go. the sight of both of you then perfectly captures how blessed i am :)

You then wanted me to lift you up - which i did. you hugged me like you were telling me you got scared, but now you feel safe because mommy is around too. always remember baby, that both your daddy and i will do our best to always make you feel safe.
After the adventure by the beach, we then went off to your favorite place at the park - the swing. However, we didn't get to stay long because the wind started to blow hard, and rain started to fall soon after. Daddy had to go back to our picnic site to put down our tent, with the help of Papa. We then decided to pack and go since the rain didn't want to stop.
'Till our next picnic. We are looking forward to have more picnics with you baby.
Loving you much,
Mommy

Kidz@Work 12.17.2010
Dear Zeke,
Today you went with me to the office. I wanted you to be there and experience the fun with the other kids eager to join the fun activity that IBM is holding. The little IBMers.
A lot of my colleagues greeted you with smiles, they wanted to carry you in their arms to make you feel how delighted they are to see you. But you didn't want to go to anyone of them but me. You started to roam around the room where all the kids are gathered witnessing the magic performance of a very funny-looking guy. You keep on tripping down from time to time as this is only your 3rd week of walking and you are still getting your bearing on how to walk properly.
I cannot help myself but smile seeing you walking everywhere trying to catch me as some of my friends are stretching their arms for a bid to carry you around. They say you look a lot like me except for one, that you have a fair skin compare to my brown complexion. Little they know is that I also had fair skin like you when I was little. But to hear them saying that you are like a mini me is like a music to my ears.
You made my day today my son.
Your Dad.
